Frequently asked questions
Can I use the Energy Card if I pay by Direct Debit?
Yes. Ask your energy supplier if you can make a one-off card payment and adjust your Direct Debit for the period it covers. For example, if you usually pay £50 a month, you could buy a £50 Energy Card and pay your supplier £50 online or by phone, receiving a 4% saving (£2). If your housing provider has Rent Contributions enabled, that £2 can automatically be put towards your rent.
Can I use it with a pay-as-you-go meter?
Yes, if your energy supplier accepts online or phone card payments for meter top-ups. Buy an Energy Card in the app, then use it to top up. Check your supplier’s payment options before buying.
Can I use my Energy Card to pay for anything else?
No. The Energy Card can only be used to pay UK energy suppliers.
Who can help if I have a problem with the offer?
Contact the Housing Perks support team. You’ll find their contact details in the Housing Perks app.
Can I still use this discount if I’m on a social tariff?
Yes. If you pay for your energy, you can still claim the Housing Perks 4% discount while on a social tariff.
Can I use the discount if I do not pay for my energy?
No. The discount applies when you pay an energy supplier using an Energy Card. If you do not pay for your energy, this offer does not apply.
